Adult Basic Education

For students who need to learn to read or build their basic skills in reading, writing, language, and mathematics, our Adult Basic Education (ABE) program is the starting point.

As a student in the ABE program, you will prepare to transition into the labor market or higher academic or vocational training. As you progress at your own speed, you will continue building your schools to earn your high school diploma through the General Educational Development (GED) program.  For locations, registration, and class times, click here.

Cost: In-state tuition $45 per semester; Out-of-state tuition $180 per semester

Activity Fee: A $10.00 Student Activity Fee is charged one time per person, per campus, per school year. This fee is used to offset the costs of providing school security and campus-related activities.

Assessment Fee: A $10.00 Assessment (testing) Fee for ABE/GED and ESOL testing is charged.

Convenient Locations and Class Times: We offer classes at more than 60 locations throughout Broward County. There are morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend classes available at different locations to meet the needs of adult students’ schedules.

Ready to get started? Just go to any of the following community schools, centers, or off-site locations listed below during registration hours.
