When you’re ready to start learning from home, Broward Community Schools makes finding a class easier than ever. Our Online Course Selector tool breaks down the classes we have into easy-to-understand categories, or if you know what you want beforehand, you can search for it right from the home page. Once you have enrolled in one of our online courses, you have access to course material immediately, thanks to the “My Classroom” tab. This provides a place for students to access assignments, reading material, discussion boards to debate and collaborate with other students, and more.
Designed to Accommodate Your Life
The diversity of classes you can take online through Broward Community Schools can feel overwhelming if you’re coming to it for the first time, but that variety is made to be more ultimately more convenient to you. That proof is in the search filter options in our class catalog. Across 14 topics, hundreds of classes are here for you to take advantage of.
Looking for something you can take on your own time? Simply click the “Self-Paced” option instead of “Instructor-Led,” which provides you with access to all course materials and a deadline of three months in which to complete the course you’re enrolled in. Instructor-Led courses provide you with a more rigorous schedule over six weeks, under the direction and moderation of an educator. It also features a discussion board to interact with other students in the class, as well as the director.
If you’re looking for a much more extensive knowledge of a subject, such as wanting to learn a new language or English as a Second Language (ESOL), or trying to learn a new software suite, consider our Bundle or Suite classes. Bundled classes work great for subjects like new languages as the classes build upon one another. Suite classes work well for topics like new programs and other computer applications, as you take them all at once, allowing your skills to build simultaneously.
