As we prepare to return to the classroom here at Broward Community Schools, we are committed to keeping each student and staff member safe. Here’s what we are doing to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to create a positive learning environment for everyone.

Mask Wearing

While in the classroom, we are requiring students and staff members to wear a facial covering to prevent exposing others to the Coronavirus. Ideally, this facial covering should be two fabric layers thick; neck gaiters and bandanas are not recommended as facial coverings to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.

Face masks should also be worn over both the mouth and nose at all times and shouldn’t have gaps around the sides for air to escape.

Social Distancing

While in the classroom, we are also asking students to stay at least three feet apart from each other while wearing masks per CDC guidelines. This applies to staff members as well.

We are also implementing social distancing of six feet while eating since this requires removing masks.

Quarantine Policy

We are also asking students and staff to follow quarantine guidelines in the event of exposure to or infection with COVID-19. This includes self-isolating for ten days after a positive PCR and quarantining for 14 days if exposed to the virus. If students or staff are symptomatic, they must self-isolate for 14 days and must be fever-free for 24 hours before returning.

These policies are in place to ensure the health and well-being of everyone at our Community Schools near Fort Lauderdale. Register for in-person classes or online courses today!
