CLAY - Pottery & Sculpture

Northeast Community School
A variety of basic & advanced techniques for creating 3 dimensional sculptures in ceramic clay. Open to beginning, intermediate and advanced students. Advanced students get advice while working on personal projects. Small, relaxed, friendly classes. Additional Materials: Although your fingers are the best tools available, other tools are few and cheap. Clay can be purchased in class.

PAINTING - Oil/Acrylic

Taravella High Community School
Painting class for beginners to advanced students. We will explore painting techniques, elements of art and create wonderful paintings. For the first class, bring a tabletop/collapsible easel, 8 "x 10" canvas, tube starter paint set in acrylic or oil, odorless turpentine if using oil, assorted paint brushes, a cup, and a palette. Additional supplies will be discussed in class

Taravella High Community School
Learn to draw and paint people in this fun and supportive figurative and portrait art class. Using pencil, soft pastels, watercolor, and oil paint, students will explore how to capture the human face and figure with accuracy and expression. We'll cover basic proportions, shading, and color techniques while working from photos and life. All levels are welcome, and each student will be guided at their own pace. Basic supplies provided by school.

WOODWORKING - Woodworking 1

Taravella High Community School
This intro to woodworking course will teach you all the necessary skills to become safe and proficient with the most common wood shop tools. Eight selected projects will highlight specific skills that can be used to make hundreds of others. On the first night of class students should bring Pine board that is at least 4 1/2" wide, 36" long, 3/8" thick. Board must be straight. Can be bough at most big-box stores.

This class is designed for those who are proficient in basic woodworking and have knowledge of the various tools. Students can work on their own projects with teacher's assistance or the teacher will guide you through a set project. Students should bring Pine board that is at least 4 1/2" wide, 36" long, 3/8" thick. Board must be straight. Can be bough at most big-box stores.

There will be exciting groups projects and opportunity for personal design. Sculpture is an option. Please bring to first day of class: Basic Pottery Tool kit can be purchased @ Michael's or Amazon. Suggested tools - basic Clay kit. Classes run: 10/23,30, 11/6,13,20, 12/4,11,18. No school 11/27 -Thanksgiving Holiday

In this hands-on studio course, students will explore the rich world of textile and fiber arts, learning traditional and contemporary techniques to create expressive works of art. Participants should bring: A pair of fabric scissors, a small selection of hand-sewing needles, a variety of fabric new or reused (such upholstery remnants, old linens, denim, or heavy cottons. Classes runs: 10/21,28, 11/4,18, 12/2,9,16. No School 11/27 Thanksgiving Holiday.

Activity Fee:
A $20.00 Student Activity Fee is charged one time per person, per campus, per school year. This fee is used to offset the costs of providing school security and campus-related activities.

Registration for BCSOnline Instruction Center http://www.ed2go.com/bcsonline, our 24/7 internet based learning center, is ALWAYS OPEN for REGISTRATION. In-person registration is continuously available for GED® and Adult General Education classes.
